FAQs
Welcome to our FAQ page! We’ve tried to answer all the most common questions, but if there’s something you’re still wondering about, please don’t hesitate to ask. We’re here to make your creative experience as fun and smooth as possible!
Q: How much does it cost to paint?
A: We have something for every budget! Our pottery items range from £10 to around £50, depending on the size and style. Whether you’re looking for a small keepsake or a larger statement piece, there’s plenty to choose from. Find the right service for you!
Q: Is there a studio or painting fee?
A: Nope! No hidden fees here. The price you see on the shelf is exactly what you pay. We like to keep things simple so you can focus on having fun. Book your session today!
Q: Can I take my pot home the same day?
A: Unfortunately, no. After painting, your pottery needs to be glazed and fired to make it shine! This process ensures the paint is set and won’t wash off, so you’ll need to wait a bit for that final reveal. Book your session today!
Q: Will you post my pot if I don’t live locally?
A: Absolutely! We’re happy to post your finished pottery to you—just cover the postage and packaging cost. Please note that while we do our best to wrap everything securely, we can’t take responsibility for any breakages during transit. Book your session today!
Q: Can I paint my pot at home?
A: Yes, you can! We offer Take-Home Pottery Kits. Just ask us for details, and we’ll set you up with everything you need to get creative in the comfort of your own home. Contact us to organise your kit today!
Q: Do I need to book a session?
A: Booking is always a good idea, especially during weekends and school holidays when things get busy. We’d hate to have to turn anyone away, so it’s best to secure your spot ahead of time. You can easily book online.
Q: Do you serve food and drinks?
A: Yes, we do! We have a selection of hot and cold drinks, as well as small snacks to keep your creative energy up. Please don’t bring your own food unless it’s for a pre-arranged party or event—we’ve got the snacks covered! Contact us if you have any questions about food and drink options!
Q: How long does it take to paint a pot?
A: We suggest allowing at least an hour for painting, but it really depends on the complexity of your design and how detailed you want to get. You have your table for 1 hour and 45 minutes, but if you need more time, you’re welcome to come back another day to finish your piece for a small £4 return fee. We’ll keep your pottery safe for a month. Book your session today!
Q: When will I get my pot back?
A: Typically, it takes 7 days for us to glaze and fire your pottery. During busy periods, like Christmas, it might extend to around 10 days. If you need your pottery sooner, just let us know—we’ll do our best to accommodate! Book your session today!
Q: Do you accept credit or debit cards?
A: Yes, we do! You can pay by card or cash, although we do prefer cash if you have it. Every little helps to keep our studio running smoothly! Book your session today!
Q: Is there an age limit for pottery painting?
A: Absolutely not! Our paints are water-based and non-toxic, so they’re safe for all ages—even the tiniest artists. There’s no upper limit, either; we’ve celebrated everything from toddler birthdays to 80th birthday parties! In fact, if you’re over 75 and visit us with both your parents, we’ll treat you to free drinks for everyone! Find the right service for you!
Q: Do you have late-night openings?
A: Yes! We host Adult-Only Pottery Painting Evenings most months. It’s a chance to relax, unwind, and get creative in a kid-free environment, often with drinks and good company. Keep an eye on our News & Events for the next date!
Q: Is Pottering Around the best Ceramics Studio in South Yorkshire?
A: Well, if a certain well-known lager brand made ceramics studios, we think they’d probably make one just like us! We’ll let you be the judge, but we’re pretty proud of what we offer. Learn more about us!
Q: Do you sell gift vouchers?
A: Yes, we do! Our gift vouchers can be purchased in any amount, and there’s no expiration date, so they can be used whenever the mood to paint strikes. They make the perfect gift for someone who loves to create! Contact us to learn more today!
